Though sometimes called the "Empire State of the South", Georgia's official nickname is The Peach State. No wonder. Georgia is the Number One producer of peanuts, pecans and peaches. Cherokee Rose, lovely and fragrant, has a sad tale associated with it. A tragic event, in 1838, in which thousands of Cherokee were forced out of Georgia and other east of the Mississippi River.
