Asanoha (hemp leaf) Japanese pattern

This traditional Japanese pattern has been used in kimono. It is a geometric pattern based on a hexagon shape and is named resemblance to a hemp leaf. Hemp was the primary material for clothing among common people until cotton cultivation became prevalent around 1600.
