Lockheed SR-71B Blackbird

Lockheed SR-71B Blackbird (61-7956/NASA 831) was a long-range, strategic reconnaissance aircraft that flew above the snow-covered Sierra Nevada mountains in 1994. This aircraft had a reduced radar cross-section and was capable of operating at high altitudes and speeds of up to 85,000 feet and Mach 3.2, respectively. The aircraft entered service with the USAF in January 1966 and was retired for the final time under NASA in 1999. The photo of the Blackbird was taken by NASA.
