We Are the Descendants of the Witches You Couldn't Hang! There were 19 accused Salem witches who were hanged in 1692, and 1 who was pressed to death. As a descendant of an accused Salem witch, I wanted to honor her memory with this line. Despite popular belief and false advertisement, the Salem witches were hanged and not burned. We will always remember: Salem, MA 1692.
