Welcome to the Monarchy

Have you ever seen a monarch burst? Overwintering monarch butterflies hang out (literally) in thick clusters on tree branches. When the temperature rises and the sun hits, they fly away to look for food -- sometimes all at once. Because I never wanted to forget it, I made these designs out of digital manipulations of my photographs of overwintering monarchs in California.
