Maxfield Parrish Daybreak Spielkarten

"Daybreak" Maxfield Parrish, 1922, shows a dreamy scene of a young woman lying between two columns with a lapis blue background landscape. Standing over her is a mysterious androgynos spirit. This vintage print was one of the most popular of its time. Commissioned by the art publishing firm, House of Art, in August 1920 "Daybreak" Parrish's first work commissioned solely for the purpose of reproduktion as a color lithographic print print print as an art print beginning in 1922. In the 1920's Maxfield Parrish's prints one fourth American households. Maxfield Parrish was one of America's best known painters in the early twentieth century.
