Oscar And Ella

This store was inspired by my own fur babies, Oscar and Ella. We first met Ella when she was a newborn. In the summer of 2009, a stray cat (who my kids named "Brownie") started hanging around our yard. The kids would play with her every day, not realizing she was pregnant. One day, she started walking towards the back yard and kept turning around as if to say "follow me". We did, and that's when we discovered her three, maybe one or two day old kittens on the side of our house. They were so cute and tiny. We couldn't let them stay there all vulnerable and likely to be eaten by some predator, so we moved them somewhere safer. We fed and took care of Brownie, she took care of her babies, and when they were old enough we played with them to help with their social skills. That wasn't a hard task because they grew cuter and cuter by the day. We taught them all how to use the litter box, even Brownie. After about 10 weeks, they were ready to be adopted so it was time to let them go. We had grown to love them so much, but I knew we couldn't keep them all. Saying goodbye was one of the most difficult times of our lives, but good homes were out there waiting for them. When the time came, I couldn't let go of Ella. So I didn't. Today, she's a happy, healthy 8 year old diva. She enjoys rides in my daughter's doll stroller and sun bathing by the window. Oscar chose us on Thanksgiving day in 2012. He was pretty clean for being blonde in color, so I had hoped he was someone's beloved pet that had somehow gotten lost. Sadly, no one claimed him, so after some thought, we decided to take him in. He was about 4-5 months old according to the vet, and the sweetest little guy. But Ella wanted nothing to do with him, so introducing him into "her" home wasn't very easy. Eventually she learned to tolerate him, but they still fight like true siblings. Now at 5 years old, Oscar loves to play. He would rather chase after milk rings and wadded up pieces of paper over any of the toys he owns.
