This is about Moxie and Precious;) At the tender age of 7 months, on a freezing January (2006) morning, Moxie (his new adopted name) was found abandoned; frightened and shivering. His leash tied to a restaurant door in New York's Greenwich Village, a bag of toiletries beside him. Luckily, a nice man named Norman was walking his dog and spotted the little puppy. He told George, who worked in a building across from the restaurant. On his way home, George (now known lovingly as Uncle George) went out and got Moxie. George told Brittney, who lived in the building and together with her boyfriend Eric, they fed, bathed and took Moxie to the dog run. Andi, who lives down the hall, took turns caring for Moxie, thinking he would be perfect for another neighbor, her friend Carol to keep her dog Muffy company. One thing led to another and by the fourth day, it was true "puppy love" for Andi. The two immediately became smitten and Andi knew they were meant to be together. Moxie's feline sister Precious, was not as enchanted by this new and unexpected intrusion in her life. Realizing how truly lucky he was to have found a loving home, lots of new friends, both four and two-legged at the dog run and wherever he goes, Moxie declared his mission to help other abandoned animals find the homes and love they also deserve. Fortunately, Andi agreed because her life has completely changed and for the better too. With his Andi's creativity and human factor a plus, Moxie plans to help make a difference by advocating pet adoption and donating a portion of any proceeds from his website, custom fund raising programs for non profits and special event participation to rescue organizations. Moxie looks forward to living a fun, loving and rewarding long life. He shows his gratefulness every day through the joy he imparts on everyone and along with Andi, hopes Precious will get over her fear of his friendly overtures. "Precious" - DOC - Director of Catitude In January 2002,The North Shore Animal League brought a number of puppies and kittens to a Manhattan Petco to be adopted. Not yet looking after the recent loss of her first cat, Andi saw this "precious" little 3 ½ month old kitten sleeping soundly in her cage which was sitting on top of two loud playful crated puppies. She asked to hold the little kitten and it fit in her hand. Well, that was it! Solely at her discretion, Precious allows herself to be hugged, kissed and enjoys dancing in Andi's arms. She prides herself on her beauty and precision grooming. When not catnapping, she enjoys hanging out in the hallway, looking out the window, marching across the laptop keyboard and jumping on Andi's stomach in the middle of the night and lounging luxuriously. Still not sure where her relationship with Moxie will lead, as an adoptee herself, she has promised to work on her "catitude" and help other animals who are not as fortunate as she and Moxie.
