Spirits Alive was formed in 2007 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Our volunteers carry out a year-round program of stone conservation, cemetery preservation, advocacy and public education. We are dedicated to restoring and preserving Eastern Cemetery, Portland Maine's oldest historical landscape, as well as educating the public about this treasure. After years of vandalism and neglect, Eastern Cemetery had become overgrown and uninspiring. Seeing a need for advocacy, public education, and conservation, Spirits Alive was born. All profits made from this store go directly to enable our programs.
