At Two Roses Two Passions Art and Design, everything is infused with curiosity, discovery, learning, creativity, passion, connection, and joy. I believe everything about the creative process is playful and full of possibility and I want to encourage people to explore their own playfulness express themselves through what they wear, what they carry, and what they have in the places they call home. I’m a multi-talented creative whose favorite question is “What if?” I’m a writer, artist, and photographer and most of all, a storyteller. Everything I create has a story behind it and that story goes way beyond the first glance. I play with the nuances of color, looking for surprises in combinations. I experiment with textures. And then I step away, returning to discover something new, and inspired to ask what if. What if I add this stroke of the brush? What if I introduce a new color? What if I deepen a texture? This exploration continues until the story I was meant to tell comes through the canvas. I see myself as an explorer with a dash of daredevil. I begin photographing the art from different angles or through glass that causes the light to refract and reveal a melding or sharpening of shape and color. The intersections multiply as I layer original works with photographs to create a new multimedia piece I never imagined when I started the painting. Throughout, I am both creating and uncovering new stories and insights. The result is a unique design that can be a traditional piece of wall art, possibly a wrapped canvas or a photograph. Or it finds its way on to a hoodie, a cross-body bag, a phone case, journal, a pillow, or a lampshade.
